DESCRIPTION
This broad introduction to the nature, vocabulary, media, and history of art, with selections from western and non-western cultures, is designed to expand visual awareness and understanding of the visual arts as a unique medium for human inter-relationships.

- Japanese American Museum : Giant Robot before 24th. (Free from 5-8 pm Thursday)
- Geffen Contemporary Mathew Barney ($6 with Student ID or Free from 5-8 pm Thursday)

Please prepare a question for the artist and write their response. Submit questionnaire at the end of class. Not everyone will be able to ask their question, so it’s OK if we are unable to get to yours (no points will be deducted.)
Artist Presentation (20 points)
10 minute power point presentation on assigned Artist. Click here for list of Artist. (Presentation Template)
Presentation should include the following information:

Year Born and Died
Years Active
Describe the Art Period/Style /Movement
What was going on the world that influenced the Artists work and or Movement
4-12 Significant works of Art and include the following information:
-Title. Medium, Scale, Year. Why was this work important?
Do not show videos over 2 minutes long.
Do not leave the class during another students presentation.
Extra Credit (2 points each)
